Everyone's journey is different. Adult education offers classes, programs and services to assist with improving basic skills, preparing for a high school equivalency credential and developing fluency in English.

Adult Education

Our adult education classes help people develop English skills or prepare to take the official tests to earn their Illinois High School Diploma, such as the GED庐. These are free, noncredit classes for people 16 years of age and older.

English as a Second Language
麻豆原创 offers free English as a Second Language classes for beginning, intermediate, and advanced learners, aimed at boosting skills for jobs, college or personal goals. Registration, held before each semester, includes a three-hour process with a placement test to match students to the right level.

Illinois High School Dipolma (IHSD)
Free High School Equivalency classes help students earn an Illinois High School Diploma, like the GED, with subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Registration, held before each semester, involves a three-hour orientation and placement test, with classes in English or Spanish and on-site GED testing available. Support includes technology access, disability accommodations, and a citizenship course on U.S. history and government for students 16 and older.
